Giving

We believe that each community has unique needs and individuals that are well-suited to meet those needs out of their time, talents and treasure. Christians have a special responsibility to notice the needs in their community and look out for those who are particularly vulnerable, especially orphans, widows, and the poor. High school drop-out rates for African-American males in Asheville hover around 70 % (Asheville-Citizen Times) and many children in our community are reading below grade-level (please look at the test results for Asheville City Schools at http://www.ncreportcards.org ). In addition to these statistics, the struggles of the children whom we tutor after-school have prompted us to work toward more comprehensive solutions. Our goal is to provide mature Christian teachers to work with children while they are still young, to teach these same children for a number of years, and to partner with parents, relatives and churches.

If you are interested in giving to the school, we encourage you to come and see the needs and how God is providing. Simply call Director Coral Jeffries at 776-6227 to set up an appointment. The children you meet, the stories you hear, and the needs you see will help you become more informed about our mission and perhaps give of your time or your treasure or your talent.
